Open Access has taken hold in the scientific scholarly publishing world in a way that it hasn't taken off in other fields of academic publishing. However, very few researchers, writers and academics outside of the scientific scholarly publishing world have any idea of even where to begin when looking for the journals that are available. This node is a place to start.
The first two repositories listed in the node are:
SHERPA - Based in the United Kingdom, SHERPA is developing open-access institutional repositories in a number of research universities to facilitate the rapid and efficient worldwide dissemination of research. Lead by the University of Nottingham, there are over 30 universities who share thier research and writings.
DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals aims to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals, thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. The Directory aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content
