ACTIVITIES
Raising awareness: A call to arms (and fingers!) to the local blogging community to spread the word about the iheritage event and encourage folk to upload their heritage objects to wikimedia commons or to come to the event.
On foot: The plan is for a few icommons staff members to get out into the Rosebank Rooftop Market the Sunday before the iheritage event and to hand out flyers and explain the event to shoppers. We have 300 flyers to hand out.
Jimmy the Evangelist: Cross-pollinate by using the Heather and Jimmy's 50 great parties event to raise awareness about our iheritage initiative. Jimmy Wales and Heather Ford will be in Cape Town on 15 September to host the South African 1 of 50 Party and we hope that they will mention the event and give us some free advertising :)
Heritage Day: A scanning/ audio station will be set up at a local Mall where people will be invited to bring multimedia heritage materials to upload into the iCommons resource database & wikimedia commons.
