SMME TV is a multi-media publishing enterprise dedicated to empowering SMMEs by providing a platform for them to educate, promote, and interact among themselves and with clients, corporates, and customers in South Africa and internationally.
The core of SMME TV will be an interactive IPTV site rich with high-impact clips ranging across profiles, news, lifestyle, events, opportunities, education, sector analysis, and entertainment, to equip SMMEs with the tools and voice to increase their effectiveness in the local, national, and global economy.
To reach the widest possible community, SMME TV will begin its full implementation in the form of a DVD magazine aimed at reaching 500,000 people in the small business world through distribution, to start with, at a minimum of 50,000 units (a targeted average of 10 viewers per DVD).
SMME TV will also be distributed through other means including mobile phone, bluetooth, in-house video screens at varied service providers and outlets, satellite and commercial television.
In all formats of distribution, SMME TV will work through partnerships with other organisations dedicated to SMME support. Some of those partnerships already in place include Women in Finance, Blue Catalyst, Black IT Forum, Lexus Marketing, and Africagrowth SMME Awards. We are currently in discussion with several other important and impactful agencies.
SMME TV will function partly by leveraging enterprise development mandates under code 600 of BBBEE, providing an effective and truly broad-based outlet for the 15% of the scorecard mandated for corporations to develop small business.
SMME TV is developing an Open Business model in synch with contemporary innovative international methods of driving business. This begins with the Open Sourcing of this business plan via an icommons wiki.
