I'm really interested in seeing this refined, Asheesh - it's a really great idea and I can see that the annual awards could be a great thing for the Summit. I guess the best thing to do to get started might be to start pointing to articles of companies who are 'trying to break the internet' i.e. as 'candidates' for the award. You could explain how they're breaking it and why the particular element that they're breaking is part of what made the internet so great in the first place.
Also, I think it would be good to refine the activities of the project and focus on something very specific that you'd like to do to get the project off the ground. Perhaps it is just the annual competition - working with the community to decide who would vote, what the criteria would be etc etc.
In that case, you may want to change the theme of your node to 'events/media' where you'll get more specific advice.
